Caregiving with Confidence provides the majority of its services to clients through the generous support of our volunteers. Whether you have lots or limited availability there are many ways you can get involved in helping our clients and their families.
Volunteering with Clients
Time Out for Caregivers
This respite program provides the caregiver with some relief by allowing them to take a break from their caregiving duties. Volunteer your time by providing a home visit (generally once a week for 2-4 hours in length) to our clients allowing them to be connected to the community through friendship while also allowing their caregiver to have some time to recharge their batteries.
Volunteers provide companionship through such activities like conversation, reading books, playing cards, going for walks.
Our volunteers do not perform any housekeeping duties, personal care, or medication management.
While we understand that caregiving duties may not allow some of our clients the ability to attend programs in the community the telephone support program allows us to connect with caregivers at a distance.
You can help by providing encouragement, information and support can help a caregiver feel as though they are not alone in their journey through regular phone calls.
Often with aging there are many loses including the loss of independence through the inability to drive. You can help by providing transportation and support to our clients to their appointments to help them maintain their sense of independence.
All clients are pre-screened to assess their abilities to ensure that our volunteers are able to manage both the client and if needed their mobility equipment. We do not provide transportation to clients with wheelchairs.
A flat fee of $10.00 be given to the volunteer for the use of their vehicle and gas by the client.
*Ring-A-Ride program users must live within postal codes R3L,R3M,R3N,R3P and R3T north to Oakenwald
